There have been recent reports in the news of a herbal body lotions which has made illegal claims that it can treat eczema and psoriasis. The lotion, called Osas (Intensive Body Lotion with Aloe Vera), is available to purchase on the Internet and contains ingredients which can cause harm to the body. It contains steroids and anti-fungal chemicals which can cause thinning of the skin and other skin problems. It has been found being used on babies and young children as well as adults and people have been warned that it should not be used and anyone using it should seek medical attention immediately. It just shows that you need to be very careful when buying toiletries and make sure that you use a brand you recognise or ask a medical professional for advice before you purchase.
