Should I use a credit repair company?
As a professional in the credit services industry, I am continually asked the question, "what is the best way to fix my credit?” The answer to that is two-fold. First, if you have derogatory trade lines on your credit, you should find a good credit repair company to get started on your credit right away. Second, there are some things you can do yourself to help maximize and improve your credit. If you have the ability to pay down your balances and keep them under 50% of the available limit; that is a great way to increase your scores immediately. If you don’t have at least 3-5 good trade lines, you are going to need to build some new credit. Now is the time to get started on that as well. You may have to start with a small loan from your bank, or possibly a secured credit card, but establishing those trade lines now, will allow them to age while your credit is getting cleaned up by the credit repair company.
