Power of background checks
Their is a safety reason for background checks but the reason almost every company is doing it now is that too many people are being deceiving, lying on their application, lying or omitting their criminal history to get a job, and then their is Identity theft, the act of using someone else’s credentials to get a job for the sole purpose of robbing the company or in some way causing problems in the company. Background checks have many powerful safety potentials and although companies pay for them the cost vs the security is well within the boundaries of being worth the expense.
