Egyptian or Turkish?
I would really like to learn how to play Middle Eastern music, since I really like this type of music. I have heard a lot of it while I have been taking belly dancing lessons. I think that the easiest instrument for me to learn to play would be the darbuka, so I am thinking of buying one and finding someone to teach me. I figure my belly dancing instructor might know of someone. But which type of darbuka should I purchase, the Egyptian or the Turkish? Does it make a lot of difference in how you play the drum?
